Spruce Confections

Located right off the every-so-famous walking strip of Pearl Street in Boulder Colorado, is the little bakery Spruce Confections. People ranging from businessmen, to the nature loving hippies sat outside in the sun eating warm baked good and iced coffee’s. Their cases were lined with cookies, cupcakes, cakes, and other delicious edibles. I got a lemon poppy seed cupcake and a chocolate raspberry cupcake.
The cupcakes came in individual plastic containers (which is nice so they don’t get their flavors all over the other one J). Both of the cupcakes had a light and airy frosting, with a hint of their main flavor (lemon or raspberry) that was piped on it a fun-twirlly way. The cake part itself was SO dry!! They tasted like they had been left in the case for about 3 days. The flavor of the lemon poppy was good, but I couldn’t get past the dryness to even try to enjoy it. The chocolate cake…also dry…just was not a good chocolate cake. It unfortunately did nothing for my taste buds what so ever.

I loved how the cupcakes looked, and the whole bakery itself was pretty darn cute….but the cupcakes are a pass. Don’t bother…walk a couple blocks down and go to Tees & Cakes instead!

But Tora surely LOVED her doggy bone I got her! J
